Conversations
An email opens with the replies around it, yours included, newest at the bottom. The eyebrow above the subject says how many messages there are, and the pills under it show the folder, attachments, flags, pins and categories.
- After deleting or archiving, the next email opens (you can turn this off in Settings > Reading).
Pictures from the internet are hidden
Pictures that load from the internet can tell a sender you've opened their email, so they're hidden until you choose. A bar says how many were hidden.
- Show pictures shows them for this email.
- Always from <sender> shows them for that sender from now on. The list is in Settings > Reading, where you can take a sender off it.
- Always show pictures from the internet (Settings > Reading) turns the blocking off.
Each email on its own sheet
Every email is shown on its own sandboxed sheet: scripts and forms in emails never run, and the caption under it says what was done - Sandboxed, Remote images blocked, shown or none, and Links cleaned when that setting is on.
Links
Links open in your browser. Remove tracking from links (Settings > Reading, on by default) takes utm_, fbclid, gclid and similar tags off a link before it opens, so sites can't tell which email you came from. A link whose text shows one website but goes to another gets a warning first.
Unsubscribe
Newsletters and mailing lists that offer it show an Unsubscribe button beside the date. Confirm, and Metre2 Mail sends the standard one-click request, or the unsubscribe email, for you. If the list only has a web page, that page opens in your browser.
Sign-in codes
When an email holds a sign-in or verification code, a Copy code button appears in the email - and in the new mail notification, for codes under 30 minutes old.
Look-alike senders
An email that says it's from a bank, a delivery company or another well-known name but comes from somewhere else gets a red warning above it, with Report as junk and Block sender.
Attachments and invitations
Open or save any attachment from the bottom of the email. Attachments that are programs are refused, and saved files are marked as coming from the internet, as Windows does for downloads.
- An email with a calendar invitation shows a bar with Add to Metre2 Calendar (Mail Pro).
Print and save
More (the ... button) has Print, Move to Junk, Block sender and Show pictures. Save as .eml keeps a copy of the email as a file (Mail Pro).
