Email for Windows, the way Windows Mail did it
A simple, fast email app for Windows, from the makers of Metre2 Calendar. Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, BT, Sky, Virgin Media and any IMAP or POP3 account, set up from your email address. Push email, conversations and search - with no ads, no account to make, and no copy of your mail on our servers.
Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, AOL, GMX, Fastmail, Zoho, BT, Sky, Virgin Media, TalkTalk and any IMAP or POP3 account - set up from your email address alone.
New mail arrives the moment it is sent (IMAP IDLE), and stays in step with your phone and webmail. POP3 can leave a copy on the server.
Each email with the replies around it, yours included. Rich text or plain text, attachments, drafts and signatures.
No ads, no account and no copy of your mail on our servers. Tracking pictures are blocked until you say, and passwords stay in Windows Credential Locker.
Find any email on your PC as you type, and ask the server for older mail. Folders, flags, archive and undo.
Gmail, iCloud and Yahoo need an app password. Metre2 Mail shows you exactly where to make one, step by step.

Yes. Microsoft stopped the Mail and Calendar apps at the end of 2024 and moved people to the new Outlook. Metre2 Mail is a simple, fast email app in the same spirit: your inbox, your folders and your conversations, with no ads and no account to make. For your calendar, Metre2 Calendar does the same for Windows Calendar.
Yes. Gmail works with an app password: turn on 2-Step Verification in your Google Account, then make an app password at myaccount.google.com/apppasswords and paste it into Metre2 Mail. The app shows you each step when you add the account.
Coming soon. Microsoft no longer lets email apps use your password for Outlook.com and Hotmail, so these accounts need a Microsoft sign-in, which arrives in an update. When it does, a Microsoft sign-in page will open in your browser and Metre2 Mail will only receive permission to read and send your mail. Every other account works now.
Any provider that offers IMAP or POP3 - which is nearly all of them. It sets itself up for Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, AOL, GMX, Fastmail, Zoho, BT, Sky, Virgin Media, TalkTalk and thousands more from your email address alone, and you can always enter the server settings yourself for your own domain.
Yes. Your mail goes straight between your PC and your email provider - it is never copied to Metre2's servers, and there are no ads. Passwords are kept in Windows Credential Locker. Pictures in emails that can tell the sender you've opened them are blocked until you choose to show them.
No - Metre2 Mail is a Windows app, because a web page can't talk to mail servers directly. It works on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
