BIM Explorer Pro

Clash check and revision comparePRO

Load the architecture and the services together and find where they clash: hard clashes between two models or two IFC classes, with a tolerance, each one ready to zoom to and export as a BCF issue. When the next issue of a model arrives, Compare shows what was added, removed or changed.

BIM Explorer Pro's clash check between an architecture model and a services model, listing two clashes with their depth, and the clashing duct and wall highlighted
How it works

Step by step

1

Load the models

Open the first model, then Add a model in the Models tab. Two models together are free; BIM Explorer Pro loads as many as you need.

2

Choose the sets

In Checks, under Clash check, choose Set A and Set B: a model, an IFC class, or both.

3

Set a tolerance

Overlaps smaller than the tolerance (in mm) are ignored. Then Run clash check.

4

Review and share

Click a clash to select both elements and zoom to them. Export the clashes as CSV, or as BCF issues with a viewpoint each.

5

Compare issues

When a new issue of the model arrives, open Compare and choose the revised IFC. See what was added, removed or changed before you update the BOQ.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of clashes does it find?

Hard clashes: elements that overlap. It checks bounding boxes first, then the meshes themselves, so a duct buried inside a wall still counts. The depth shown is approximate.

Can it check clearances?

Not yet - it finds overlaps, with a tolerance for small ones.

Can I send clashes to other tools?

Yes. Export them as BCF issues (one per clash, each with a viewpoint) for any BCF tool, or as CSV.

Is it free?

Clash check and Compare are part of BIM Explorer Pro (a one-off £29.99, free 7-day trial).
