Open a Publisher (.pub) filePRO

Desktop Publishing opens .pub files from Publisher 98 to Publisher 2019 and Microsoft 365, on this PC, without Publisher. It never uploads them and never changes the .pub file.

Use File > Open (or ··· > Open a Publisher file), drop the .pub file onto the page, or right-click it in File Explorer and choose Open with > Desktop Publishing.
A short report says what was converted: pages, text boxes, pictures, shapes and tables, and anything that wasn't (for example WordArt shown as styled text).

Save it as a Desktop Publishing file (.m2dp). Your original .pub file stays as it was.
