A free NRM2 bill of quantities template for Excel, the assembly recipes that come with Takeoff Studio, and a sample project to open and explore.

Bill of quantities template (NRM2), Excel

A blank bill in NRM2 work-section order - Bill, Collection and Summary sheets - laid out like the bill Takeoff Studio Pro writes. Amounts, section totals, the Collection and the Summary are live formulas, so it recalculates as you type quantities and rates. Type preliminaries, overheads and profit, and contingency on the Summary.

The four preset assemblies

Each item is worked out for one unit of the measurement, then waste is added and, if ticked, it's rounded up. Times multiplies the results. Formulas can use Qty, Length, Area, Perimeter, Count, Height, Depth, Volume and the variables. How assemblies work.

Frequently asked questions

Are the downloads free?

Yes, all of them. The Excel template and the CSV don't need Takeoff Studio at all. Importing a tool library or a project package into Takeoff Studio needs Takeoff Studio Pro (first month free).

Whose drawings are in the sample project?

The US Army Corps of Engineers' One Company HQ Fire Station standard design (September 2021). Works of the US Government are in the public domain. It's an imperial drawing; the sample is calibrated at 1/8" = 1'-0" (1:96) so quantities read in metres.

Can I use the NRM2 template on my own jobs?

Yes. It's a starting point - check it against the project's own measurement rules and add the work sections you need from the Work sections sheet.

Can I share the tool library with my team?

Yes. Import it on each PC, or change it and export your own with Library > Export Tools - tools keep their trade, rate, style and assemblies.

Measure your own drawings - free

Measuring is free. Takeoff Studio Pro is £24.99 a month or £199.99 a year, and the first month is free.
