Licence & Permit Expiry Tracker, in practice

The countdown timeline and the month calendar view, side by side.

A live countdown timeline

Every licence is plotted on a vertical line by days-until-expiry, colour-banded by urgency - expired, due within 30 days, due within 90 days, or on track - so the most urgent renewals are always the first thing you see.

A real month calendar

Flip to the Calendar tab for a full month grid with every renewal date marked on its day cell - click a marked date to jump straight to that licence's details.

A stat strip at a glance

Four counts at the top of the screen - expired, due within 30 days, due within 90 days, on track - so you always know your overall renewal picture without scrolling.

Any licence, permit or membership

Six categories cover insurance, certifications, licences, permits, memberships and anything else - not gated to construction or any single trade.

Your own reminder window per licence

Set "remind me" in days before the renewal date on each licence individually - give slower-to-arrange items like insurance more lead time than a quick permit renewal.

Renewal cost tracking

Log the renewal cost alongside each licence so you can see what's coming up financially as well as when it's due.

Click any card to edit or delete

Click a licence anywhere - on the timeline or the calendar - to open it straight into an edit form, update the details, or remove it entirely.

Light/dark theme, and sample data

A light/dark toggle that remembers your choice, and "Load sample" fills in a realistic set of licences spread across every urgency band to explore the app.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install anything to use Licence & Permit Expiry Tracker?

Licence & Permit Expiry Tracker is a Windows desktop app, free to try from the Microsoft Store.

Does my Licence & Permit Expiry Tracker account work with Vector and Forma?

Yes - Licence & Permit Expiry Tracker uses the same shared Metre2 account as Vector, Forma and every other Keystone app. Sign in once and it works everywhere.

What counts as a licence or permit?

Anything with a renewal date - business insurance, trade certifications, waste carrier licences, site permits, professional memberships, or any other business licence. It's not gated to any one industry or trade.

How does the timeline work?

Every licence is plotted on a vertical countdown line, positioned by how many days until it's due, and colour-banded by urgency: expired (red), due within 30 days (amber), due within 90 days (blue), or on track (green).

Is there a calendar view too?

Yes - the Calendar tab shows a full month grid with renewal dates marked on their day cells, so you can see everything due in a given month at a glance.

Can I set my own reminder period?

Yes - each licence has its own "remind me" setting in days before the renewal date, so you can give slower-to-renew items (like insurance) more lead time than quick ones.

Where does my data go?

Everything persists on your device between sessions - nothing is uploaded anywhere. Data doesn't currently sync across multiple devices.

Is this only for construction trades?

No - Licence & Permit Expiry Tracker works for any business tracking renewal dates, whatever the industry.
