The cups are out.
Four dice games at one lamplit table: Yacht, the five-dice scorecard classic, Farkle, Liar's Dice and Shut the Box. Play the house regulars at four strengths, one at a time or a table of four, with fair dice rolled in the open and play chips in the pot. Free in your browser on a phone, tablet or PC - no account, no adverts.
The room, a turn at Yacht and at Farkle, a bid and a reveal at Liar's Dice, and Shut the Box.
The room - pick a game, a regular and a stake
Yacht - keep, roll again, score a box
Farkle - roll on, or bank it
Liar's Dice - make your bid
Liar's Dice - the cups come up
Shut the Box - shut the tiles that make the total
Three rolls, keep what you like, and fill all thirteen boxes: the top half with its 35 bonus, full houses, straights and the 50-point Yacht itself. Also known as Yatzy.
Six dice, ones and fives, triples and straights. Set your scorers aside and roll on for more, or bank before a farkle takes the lot. Hot dice give you all six back.
Five dice under every leather cup. Bid on what's under all of them, raise, bluff, and call "Liar!" or "Spot on". Ones can be wild.
Nine wooden tiles. Roll two dice, flip down tiles that make the total, and leave as little as you can. Once 7, 8 and 9 are down you may roll one die.
Every roll comes from your device's secure random numbers and is thrown across the table where you can see it. The regulars decide from their own dice and the bids - never yours.
Cecil, Mabel, Rufus, Otis, Pearl, Ines, Agnes, Winston and Dolores. Some push their luck, some bank early, some bluff shamelessly. Play one of them or a table of four.
Each game walks you through its rules the first time. Hint suggests which dice to keep, which box to score, the odds on a bid and the best tiles to shut.
Put a stake in the pot, or play a friendly for nothing. Chips can't be bought or cashed out, and the house stands you more if you run dry.
Gain experience as you play. Twenty trophies - a Yacht, hot dice, a spot-on call, shutting the box, beating Dolores - and your record against every regular in every game.
High-contrast dice, numbers beside every die, kept dice marked by position and the word KEEP rather than colour alone, bigger text and reduced motion.
Tap or click the dice, or use the number keys, R to roll and B to bank; arrow keys or a gamepad walk round every control. It fits a phone held upright.
No account, no adverts, nothing to buy. The whole room runs on your own device and your progress stays there.
Most free dice apps pay for themselves with adverts, often between turns, and players regularly accuse the computer of loaded dice. Lamplight Dice has no adverts and rolls every die in the open.

No. Chips are for play only. You can't buy them, cash them out or exchange them for anything, and if you run low the house stands you 200 more for free.
Yes. Every roll uses your device's secure random number generator, so each face comes up exactly one time in six, and every throw happens in the open on the table. The regulars only ever see their own dice: nobody looks under your cup.
Four: Yacht, the five-dice scorecard game also known as Yatzy, with all thirteen boxes, the upper bonus and extra Yachts; Farkle, with hot dice and a target of 2,000, 5,000 or 10,000; Liar's Dice, with bidding, “Liar!” and “Spot on” calls and optional wild ones; and Shut the Box over one, three or five rounds.
Nine house regulars - computer players run by the game - at four strengths, from Cecil, who is still learning, to Winston and Dolores. Each plays their own way: Rufus pushes his luck at Farkle and bluffs at Liar's Dice, Ines works out the odds and rarely bluffs, and Agnes catches a bluff before it's finished. Play one regular or a table of up to four.
Yes. Each game walks you through its rules the first time you play it, and How to play brings them back whenever you like. The Hint button tells you which dice to keep, which box to score, the chance that a bid is true, or which tiles to shut.
No - play it straight from your browser, on a phone, tablet or PC, and add it to your home screen like an app. A free Windows app for the Microsoft Store is on its way.
No account. The browser edition needs a connection the first time it loads; after that the whole room is stored on your device and works offline.
On your own device. Your level, trophies, record and any game in progress stay on the device you play on, and you can erase them yourself in Settings. In your browser, your chips are shared with Lamplight Card Room and the other Lamplight games, so you're playing with the same stack.
Free in your browser. A Windows app is coming soon. Play chips only, never real money. No account, no adverts.
