See the shortfall coming, not after it's landed
A rolling weekly cash-in/cash-out projection built from the recurring and one-off cash items you enter - retainers, payroll, rent, supplier accounts. It flags the exact week a shortfall is likely, and how low the balance gets, well before it happens.
The Dashboard's week-by-week forecast strip, wrapping into rows so the whole horizon is visible at once, and the Cash items tab listing every recurring and one-off income/expense driving it.
Dashboard - the weekly forecast strip, wrapping into rows so nothing is hidden off-screen
Cash items - every recurring and one-off income and expense driving the forecast
Every week in your chosen horizon shown as its own card - projected balance, income and expense for that week - scrolling out as far ahead as you've set it to look.
The moment the projected running balance goes negative, that week's card turns red - no manual checking, no spreadsheet formula to get right.
Model retainers, payroll runs, rent, supplier accounts and one-off payments each with their own frequency - the forecast expands every recurrence automatically.
The stat strip surfaces the earliest week you'd run short and how low the balance gets across the whole forecast, so the headline number is the one that matters most.
Set today's actual balance and how many weeks ahead to project (4 to 52) - tune the forecast to how far ahead your business actually needs to plan.
Every cash item's on the Cash items tab too, searchable by description, sortable on any column, and filterable by income or expense.
GBP, EUR, USD, AUD, CAD and NZD symbols - cash flow forecasting doesn't vary by country, so you just pick the symbol that matches your own pricing.
A light/dark toggle that remembers your choice, and "Load sample data" fills in a realistic mix of income and expense items so you can see the forecast working before entering your own.
Export the full cash item list to CSV any time - for a backup, a spreadsheet pivot, or handing a snapshot to your bookkeeper or accountant.
No bank connection, no live market data, no accounting ledger - just a deterministic projection from what you tell it, kept deliberately simple to stay trustworthy.
Everything lives in local storage on your device - no account setup beyond your shared Metre2 sign-in, no server, no internet connection required to use it day to day.
Most small businesses either build their own cash flow spreadsheet and forget to update it, or pay for a full financial-planning platform they don't need just to spot a shortfall coming. Here's how a dedicated, focused forecaster compares.

It's a Windows desktop app. It is not yet available on the Microsoft Store - a Store listing is planned, but for now the app is built and ready ahead of submission.
No. It is deliberately not a live bank-feed tool - you enter your recurring and one-off cash items (income and expenses) yourself, and the forecast is calculated purely from what you've entered. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Starting from your entered starting balance, each week from today adds that week's expected income and subtracts that week's expected expenses, based on each cash item's frequency (once, weekly, fortnightly or monthly). The running balance after each week is shown, and any week where it goes negative is flagged as a shortfall.
Any week in the forecast where the running projected balance drops below zero. The Dashboard's stat strip also surfaces the first shortfall week and the lowest projected balance across the whole forecast horizon, so you see the earliest warning first.
Yes - Settings lets you set the forecast horizon in weeks (4 to 52), your starting balance, and your currency.
Everything persists on your device between sessions - nothing is uploaded anywhere. The app works entirely offline with no server dependency, and data doesn't currently sync across multiple devices.
