UK IDS check pack - Metre2 BIM Explorer 1.5 ============================================ Five starter checks for UK IFC models, as buildingSMART IDS 1.0 files. They come built in to BIM Explorer Pro (Checks > UK check pack), and here as files so you can read them, run them in any IDS checker, or change them for your own project. They are starter checks: a quick way to see what's missing before you send or accept a model. They are not an official UK standard, and they don't replace your client's own IDS, EIR or information requirements. Every file covers IFC 2x3, IFC4 and IFC 4.3 (IFC4X3_ADD2). They validate against the buildingSMART IDS 1.0 schema (ids.xsd). uk-01-uniclass.ids - Uniclass on every element Walls, curtain walls, slabs, roofs, beams, columns, members, plates, doors, windows, stairs, stair flights, ramps, railings, coverings, footings and piles carry a classification whose system name contains "Uniclass" (any case - "Uniclass 2015", "Uniclass", "UniClass2015 Ss" all pass). uk-02-spaces.ids - Spaces named and numbered Every IfcSpace has a Name (its number) and a LongName (its name). uk-03-base-quantities.ids - Base quantities present Walls: NetSideArea or GrossSideArea. Slabs, roofs and coverings: NetArea or GrossArea. Beams, columns and members: Length. Doors and windows: Width, Height and Area. The quantity set may be called Qto_..., BaseQuantities, or anything with "quantit" in its name. If this fails on a Revit export, tick "Export base quantities" in Revit's IFC export settings. uk-04-common-properties.ids - Core common properties Walls and slabs: IsExternal and LoadBearing. Walls and doors: FireRating. uk-05-handover.ids - Handover minimum (starter, not COBie) The project, site, building and storeys have names. Door and window types (IFC4 and 4.3) or door and window styles (IFC 2x3) have Manufacturer and ModelReference. This is a starter check for a few handover basics. It is not COBie validation. Changing a check Open the .ids file in an IDS editor, or in any text editor (it's XML). Change the entity list, the property names or the patterns, save it under a new name, and in BIM Explorer Pro use Checks > Load IDS file to run your copy. Running the checks in BIM Explorer BIM Explorer is free from the Microsoft Store. The IDS check and the UK check pack are part of BIM Explorer Pro (a one-off upgrade, with a free 7-day trial). https://www.metre2.co.uk/bimexplorer-uk-ids-pack.html Questions: support@metre2.co.uk
